Welcome to the Minnesota Dachshund Club Web Site!

The Minnesota Dachshund Club ("MDC"), founded in 1945, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement and welfare of the Dachshund breed.  Our members participate in a wide variety of activities with our Dachshunds: conformation shows, obedience trials, earth dog tests, field trials, tracking trials, and Canine Good Citizen tests and therapy dog work. The Club is licensed by The American Kennel Club ("AKC") to hold these events under AKC rules.

The road work around the fairgrounds is essentially done. Note that the new roads provide three entrances to the fairgrounds. The south entrance is the one to use for the shows.

Volunteer Opportunities to make the day run like a well-oiled Machine

Raffle and Auction Items are still welcome also. Donations of new and gently used Dachshund and other canine themed stuff (books, art, figurines, blankets, kennel equipment, grooming supplies, tools, etc.) would be truly appreciated. Please contact our Specialties Auction & Raffle Chair, Joan Musil, at tamusil@msn.com or 651-387-9347 before the first day of the shows to arrange pick up. Joan will be at many dog shows prior to our Specialties and will be happy to meet members at shows.

Volunteers are needed for a wide array of tasks

– Show & Field Event Committees, August Specialty ring stewards, Judges transportation, staffing MDC’s booth at the Responsible Dog Owners Day in September, Field Trial brush beaters and more.
