The Minnesota Dachshund Club (MDC), founded in 1945, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement and welfare of the Dachshund breed.
Our membership consists of breeders, show and performance event competitors, as well as Dachshund pet owners who do not compete but love the breed and enjoy attending the different Dachshund activities. You need not be a competitor to belong to the Minnesota Dachshund Club.
Members participate in a wide variety of activities and events with our Dachshunds including conformation, obedience, rally, field trial, eathdog, tracking, barn hunt, scent work, coursing ability, therapy dog, canine good citizen and trick dog events.
In 2025, MDC sponsored three Specialty Shows in August, complete with competition in Breed, Junior Showmanship, Puppy/Veteran Sweepstakes, Obedience and Rally in conjunction with the St. Croix Valley Kennel Club All Breed shows. Our specialties took place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday August 21st-23rd, followed by all breed shows on Saturday and Sunday August 23rd and 24th. MDC also hosted Dachshund 3 field trials in the spring and 2 in the fall at the Fox River Beagle Club in Hortonville, WI.
